ONLINE COURSES
The private IELTS classes at IELTS DAVE are the result of years of experience and detailed analysis of the needs and challenges faced by candidates in this exam.
In these classes, all strategies and techniques for the four main IELTS skills are taught in full. By completing the course, learners will be equipped to reach their desired score — provided their general English level matches their target band, which is determined through an initial placement test.
The course consists of 48 sessions, covering all four skills —Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing — with a focus on achieving the best possible results. You will learn all the techniques and tips necessary to maximise your score in the IELTS test.
In these classes, you will not only learn how to take the exam effectively, but your IELTS score can typically improve by 0.5 to 1 band on average.

Frequently Asked Questions About the IELTS Exam
1. How long will it take me to get my desired IELTS score? How much study time do I need?
It depends entirely on your current English level and your target band score. If you are ready to join the main IELTS course, you will need 48 private sessions (private classes progress 1.5 to 2 times faster than group classes). The amount of time you should dedicate to study also depends on your level, your target score, and the number of hours you can commit each day. For more details, consult our specialists.
2. Is it good to take an intensive course five days a week?
Since each class session requires three to four hours of self-study afterwards, attending classes daily usually leads to fatigue and loss of focus. While such schedules may be financially beneficial for institutions, they do not necessarily improve your performance.
3. IELTS General or Academic – which is better, and what’s the difference?
If you plan to study abroad, the Academic module is generally recommended. If you aim to live or work abroad, you will likely need the General module. The main differences are in the Reading and Writing sections:
Reading (Academic): 3 long texts (descriptive, factual, analytical), may include charts/tables.
Reading (General): 5–6 shorter texts; only one long text on a general topic.
Writing (Academic): Task 1 – describe a chart/table/diagram; Task 2 – essay.
Writing (General): Task 1 – write a letter; Task 2 – essay.
4. Is IELTS only about techniques, or does my English level matter?
In the past, some candidates could achieve an acceptable score with memorised phrases and techniques. Today, with updated marking criteria, that approach will not get you beyond Band 5–5.5. A solid command of English is essential for success, so in both IELTS and Pre-IELTS courses, you need to focus on grammar, vocabulary, and General English Proficiency alongside techniques.
5. Which is better – private or group IELTS classes?
Private classes progress faster, allow the teacher to focus on you, and give you more speaking time. Group classes offer peer interaction and group activities that can improve social skills and make learning more engaging. We generally recommend group classes unless you are in a hurry or have time constraints.
6. What is the IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)? Can I use it for my Australian visa?
IELTS now offers a One Skill Retake, which lets you retake only one section (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) of the test instead of doing the full exam again. You’ll get a new Test Report Form (TRF) that combines your original three scores and the updated one.
Good news for Australia: The Department of Home Affairs accepts OSR results for most visa subclasses, except subclasses 476, 482, and 485, which require a single sitting. If you need to improve just one skill quickly, OSR is a smart option— but remember the 60‑day window to take it after your full test
“Before I got to know IELTS Dave, I had already taken IELTS courses at an institute, but they had no impact on my overall score. In Dave’s classes, however, my weaknesses were identified, and I experienced a major shift and clear direction in Speaking, Writing, and comprehension in Reading and Listening. I’m very glad I got to know Teacher Dave. He listened to everything I said with patience and calmness, always gave the best guidance, and always tried to reduce my stress. Thanks to him, I reached my goal, and I truly appreciate all his efforts.”

“About the positive impact and usefulness of the class — no matter how much I say, it won’t be enough. In such a short time, considering all the grammar and vocabulary weaknesses I had, the result was unbelievable. It’s true that probably because of my own mistake my Listening score wasn’t good, but overall, moving from about band 4 to 6 in such a short time, with so little opportunity to practice, was really amazing.”

“Before your classes, I had gone to several institutes, but they only taught general test-taking tips and I couldn’t fix my weaknesses there. I’m really glad that, despite all the stress I had to meet my university deadline, my friend introduced me to you. The detailed points you gave me in every skill felt like you knew my exact problems, and you gave me a very precise plan to fix them. It was excellent.”
